Cafe Deli France

The addition of Cafe Deli France (Santa Cruz 982, Miraflores) to the gastronomic supply of Lima is extraordinarily good news. It is an invention of Deli France. From the outside, the sign says simply "D" but once inside, one finds a large space, finely decorated with bronze details and french posters from the Belle Epoque. All details have been well thought out and executed, including the illumination and the bar.

The style immediately brings us to Paris, either to a simple Bistro or to a good Bar. The menu offers french delicacies such as Foie Gras and Escargot, but also international dishes. The onion soup was memorable, as well as the Pork medallions. The wine, a 2006 Chateau du Gazin (Fronsac) was a great find. In general, they seem to have the best french wine list in Lima.

The end of the dinner was not as good. The desserts are simple and nothing special. And even through they offer a cheese plate, there is neither Port nor Sauternes to accompmany them. This is a serious mistake. Despite these last details that require urgent attention, the opening of Cafe Deli France is magnificent news and we wish them the best of lucks.
